Among the superstars confirmed are two with the country’s most well-known singers, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso have been notoriously exiled from Brazil during its military dictatorship. The pair will do alongside Carioca songstress and current national sensation Anitta after her three hit albums since 2013.
“It was Caetano’s idea to own Anitta, he considers her an incredible singer. We were really astounded by her, she gets an amazing technique and her delivery is beautiful,” Meirelles said. World famous supermodel Gisele Bündchen is likewise making a look and feel, where she will catwalk when in front of her biggest audience ever. Brazilian model Lea T, who may have appeared in many campaigns and also on the cover of numerous magazines, is going to be the first transgender person to possess a major role with an Olympic opening ceremony – even though the exact information of her participation remains unknown. “The message is going to be clear: inclusion. All of people, outside of gender, sexual orientation, colour, race or creed, are typically human beings and they are part of this society. My role inside the ceremony is tiny but is going to be significant for representation, and can help to transmit this message (of inclusion)," Lea T said within an interview with BBC Brasil.
